Prolly Not Funny is a collection of original art creations by Michael Orr (and sometimes others). I’m just starting to get into painting (mostly acrylics, though I’ve also played with watercolors a bit). I’m continually trying to learn to draw better and produce works with pen or pencil sometimes.
I’m also working with A Comic Shop in Orlando, Florida on their appropriately named comic book called A Comic Book where I mostly write and edit, though I’ve also worn the Editor-in-Chief hat for at least one issue.

for a while this was a daily webcomic. it was a webcomic for about a year and a half. it’s still all there in the archive if you want to look. now this is more of a place that i put drawings since i’m trying to learn to do a much better job of it. everything is drawn by hand, it’s about the craft of it, it’s about getting me off of the computer, it’s about learning to draw without the aid of digital tools (well except for the scanner and some white balancing). anyway…
the webcomic was a means to get me involved in creative projects again and now that i’m working on some bigger things i have less time for making webcomics and have decided to take a break. this doesn’t mean i’m not working in comics, actually i’m much more involved in the comics now. i’m writing stories for comic books! and helping edit a anthology comic book put out by my local comic shop. i’m working on a few other comic books including a few things for the children’s market and one for the educational market. i even get into comic con for free as a professional!
so the webcomic was a success, some comics got 10K or more views, while most got very few overall. but it moved me to create more and i can’t stop creating i just don’t feel like creating webcomics right now. i will make more webcomics one day. i haven’t forgotten about Spacemen Go To Mars 2, the script is done, we have settings drawn and figured out for the first act. someday. SGTM2, it’s coming.

there should be a new comic every day. or at least that is what I’m going with right now. my name is michael orr and this comic is almost solely my creation. I have to give credit to my wife and my friends though, they often inspire me and help me work on different bits. also mads props to the internet at large.
some days I just post a sketch but most days I try to add an element of humor to it.
this comic is drawn by hand, mostly with sharpies and various pens. i don’t have any kind of regular access to a scanner large enough for my drawings (they tend to be 9”x12”) so I take photos with my digital camera. (actually I got a scanner)
I use tumblr to run the site because it is wonderfully free.
